i am so excited..kandi everett just dropped off her work that will be displayed from july 7th..this is one show you don't want to miss. it's an amazing display of work..and i can honestly tell you, you don't want to wait on these. they are priced between $80 to $180 each which is quite a steal for an original one of a kind piece of art.

some really exciting things happening around the shop. our "found" art show is coming to a close and we have kandi everett's one woman show happening soon. trust me there will be some amazing pieces and you'll just have to wait and see.

in the mean time "the box jelly" has just popped up in part of our space. it's a community workspace. although the concept of co-work spaces have been around for some time, it's still a fairly new concept here in our islands. after all, who wants to spend another afternoon sniffing coffee in another boring starbucks when you can work and be in a gorgeous one of a kind environment like fishcake.

d.i.y. it!

my spring cleaning started a little late this year..but i finally finished it this weekend. it feels so good be organized again..i found all these little half finished d.i.y. projects stashed away in this corner and that. but now that i know where all my tools are it's time to finish them up.

summer time is the best time for projects for me. since the days are longer, i always feel like i have more time to dilly dally around..here are just a few i plan on working on this summer. what about you?

not sure how this will work out or where exactly i'll be putting it but i love this thumbtack graphic.

my, my i must really keep up with the blogging..pardon me for the long absence. i don't know how some of you do it.

i love blogs, i love reading blogs, it's seriously part of my daily morning routine and i feel really off balance when i don't get through all my favorites. i always feel like i'm missing out on something great and i'm not with the program. they really are daily doses of inspiration for me.

that is why when i recently discovered pinterest, i immediately knew that pinterest and i would be great friends. pinterest works much like tumblr in that you can save images that you love and anyone who follows you can also see these images and it's a big share fest. but with pinterest, it will link where the image came from. so for instance, if i save a picture of chocolate cake, it can take me to the recipe for that particular chocolate cake. and it's not just food, it's design, and graphics, and weddings, and photos, and fashion, and so much more!!!!!

prior to this, i would bookmark snippets and pull images of things that inspired me, so that i could go back to them later in case i forgot what it was at the moment that i heart. with pinterest there are pin boards to help you organize different categories like DIY, and food, and fashion, which makes it easier to sort and find what you're looking for at a later date. my computer desk top is so much cleaner these days!

pinterest, i heart you! you've made my morning routine so much more inspiring!

we just discovered this sherwin williams i-phone and blackberry app. you can take a photo of whatever inspires you and the app will pull up a close match to the color that you love. it will even pull up coordinating schemes for you to mix and match.

it's not perfect but def. a lot of fun.

you light up my art..

one of the best things about working here is meeting so many amazing artists and people. it's such fun to get new things in the store..so without further ado..wendy kim messier dropped off these super fun floor and table lamps today. you might know wendy as the accomplished jewelery designer and now she's branching out into lamps amongst other things..literally branching out by the looks of these living art pieces.

one of our favorite artists timothy ojile has been keeping a secret stash of rumrill pottery. he has graciously given us several that he's willing to part with and to be adopted into a good home. i love these little guys. the colors are scrumptious and deliciously yummy with an extra added flavor of kitsch. don't believe me, just see for yourselves in these pictures or just come visit them and get to know them personally. prices range from $60 to $150 a piece.
